Haitian men in Miami, stay out of their path

I can only speak from personal experiences that myself, family and friends have encountered. I only have negative horror stories to speak about Haitian men in the Florida area, especially in Miami. Although most men in my culture are attentive, caring and very great fathers and husbands, I have to say the rest that I have encountered are scam artists, liars, cheats on their wives constantly and are even evil. The reason why Miami is home of the bad guys is because Miami is the premier destination for Haitian people that choose to restart their lives in America. The lack of jobs, and hardships and the competitiveness in Haitian culture after moving to America caused these men to become selfish, scam artists and borderline desperate. One incident in particular, one of my friends thought that she had found love after a pleasant encounter with a stranger in the International airport in Miami.  For privacy reasons we gonna use Sara as her alias name.They exchanged phone numbers and used to be on the phone for hours. The only problem was that she lived in NYC and he lived in Miami. He told her that he was studying criminal justice on his way to become a police officer and owned a trucking business in Haiti. They planned their first visit for her to come see him.  When she got to the airport, he kept sending her to voicemail and did not picked up his phone. After being stranded for hours, he finally send one of his friends to pick her up and she had nowhere to go. It was then she found out that he had a pregnant fiancee and was only in America on a temporary visa. After one of his friends tipped off the pregnant fiancee, he had to leave her stranded in the airport because if his fiancee called off the shotgun wedding, he would be deported for staying past his visa date that was already expired. To top things off he had a girlfirend in Haiti and had a three year old daughter.

Haitian men with babymama

How much time do you keep your mouth shut to keep the peace? How many times do you need to be a bigger person? When do you finally stop wondering if your partner is still in love with the mother of his kids? The answer is as long as it takes to keep your man happy but sometimes enough is enough.
 Haitian men do not like drama and obsessing yourself over his ex is not helpful to your sanity or to your relationship. I know we as women wants to know the full truth but sometimes we cannot handle it? You might want to know the reason they broke up but what if your man was the one in the wrong. Moving on.
Most Haitian men takes pride on raising their children and they would not stop being in their lives just because you just came in the picture. Rather to make him choose on spending time between you and his kids, involve yourself even if he did not offer. But what if his ex is a territorial bitch that don't want you near her kids and can't let go of the fact the relationship is over and wants to make your life miserable, play the victim and use this as an opportunity to shine.

Haitians commenting on people weight.... rude

I never remember how embarrassed I was when I asked a woman about her pregnancy and she wasn't even pregnant. Looking back at it, it was ignorant and I should've known better. Whether  ` someone is skinny or thick, overweight or under weight, gained weight, lost weight, just keep your comments to yourself.

Haitian men, y'all are too comfortable discussing women weight and turns around calling a girl getho for cursing you out. You complained when we are too skinny and also complained when we are too fat. I don't get it.

Haitian mothers, y'all feed us salty food and unhealthy pots of rice and rudely comments on our weight in front of everyone. Yall make the food and comments every time we get eat it. Y'all need to stop putting me on the spot at every family gathering.

Haitian dads- Enablers of our bad  food habits and tells us we did not gained weight, when you know we did. While some of y'all eat all the food in the house. I think some of you guys just want us to be malnourished because you are so overprotective and doesn't want any guys to look at us.

Haitian siblings- Make stupid jokes about weights that are not funny and never failed to bring it up during an argument.

Haitian church people- After not seeing me for months, the first thing you comment on is my weight. Looking at my skirt to see how tight it is and gossiping saying that I'm stressed out.
Life will be so much easier if you just keep your comments to yourself

Getting back to the old me. Healthy, Beautiful and Confident

My beauty used to reflect the way that I feel. I used to be very confident and very outgoing.  After ending a one year relationship, I am at the stage of putting all the pieces together. After giving someone my all for a year, there was not a lot left. My savings, my self-esteem, my heart was basically gone. What about me? I am now left in the dark, with empty promises and a happy ending that never happened. The person that I trusted the most that I gave up everything for basically left me hanging during the most important time of my life. I was forced to explain to my family and friends, Where was I for the past year? Why did I let that happen? Where is he now?

In my journey to love myself again, I had to admit to myself that I was a weak woman that let a guy take advantage of me. That will never happened again.
My beauty is starting to reflect the way that I am now happy, independent, and resilient, in love and the smile in my face everyday says it all.
